The growing awareness of menopause in the workplace and the recent updates to the Employment Rights Bill are music to my ears. It’s crucial to keep workplace inclusivity at the forefront of change, ensuring safer, more supportive environments for everyone.
Why independent accreditation matters
For years, we have supported organisations in achieving Menopause Friendly Accreditation, assessed by an independent panel of experts. Through this, we’ve learned one clear truth: real change isn’t about ticking a box, it’s about lasting impact.
Our members consistently tell us that the real value lies in:
- Having their impact independently assessed
- Receiving insightful reports on areas for improvement
- Being part of a wider movement driving cultural change
This ensures credibility, accountability and – most importantly – meaningful support for employees.
A decade of leading change
Our 10 years of experience has given us the expertise and insight into what makes a meaningful difference in an organisation for its employees.
Our expertise was also recognised when we received a BSI award for supporting the development of the BSI Guidance on Menopause and Menstruation while our teams around the world are supporting internationally.
What employers need to know
Over the past decade, we’ve worked with countless employers and one thing is clear: training budgets must have proof of impact. We know the business case is incredibly strong.
And this is about real lives, gender equality, protecting careers, incomes and pensions. What employees learn at work extends beyond the office – it makes a huge difference to partners, families and communities. This is why thorough, independently assessed training and accreditation matters.
Strength in numbers: the power of Menopause Friendly Employers
In the past four years, over 140 employers have earned Menopause Friendly Accreditation, ranging from FTSE 100 companies to charities and high street retailers. And I’m delighted to say many have now achieved Reaccreditation, demonstrating that they’re keeping going strong!
Meanwhile, our Menopause Friendly Membership includes over 600 organisations in the UK and leading employers in the US and Australia, creating a powerful network of knowledge-sharing and support including:
- Workshops and training
- Ready-made, best practice resources
- Webinars and get togethers
- Awards ceremonies
Meaningful menopause accreditation is built on integrity in training and independence in assessment. I salute those Menopause Friendly Accredited employers who are leading the way.
